With cherry jam glaze and toasted almonds on top
We enjoyed the pear and almond tart so much that I made another, I think we have another family fave. This time I had acquired a proper flan dish so it is more like a tart than a cake. I also added a cherry jam glaze and some toasted flaked almonds on top.

I made the pastry from scratch this time rather than use pre-made shop-bought. I didn’t take any pics though, so I can’t really show you that stage. I’m sure I’ll do another pastry soon and will add it in then.
For the cherry jam glaze. Put a teaspoon of jam and two of water in a pan. Heat gently whilst stirring to mix. When it is well mixed, brush it on top the tart
Toasted flaked almonds are simple. Heat a dry frying pan and add the flaked almonds. Keep them moving around the pan for a minute or two until they start to colour a little. That’s it!
