Kale crisps

Thought Kale couldn’t be a tasty snack? Try these and surprise yourself. Great on it’s own or perfect as a topping to a chow mein.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 150g fresh kale leaves cut into bitesize strips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180° C / gas mark 4 (160° C)
  • Spread the kale on a baking tray, drizzle the oil and sprinkle the salt over it. Briefly toss the kale to spread the oil as evenly as possible.
  • Place in the oven for 10-12 minutes until it is crisp but not burnt.

Notes

My girls love this, especially the older one. She’ll happily munch the whole lot if I let her.

It’s great on it’s own as a snack or sprinkle some on top of a chow mein for a crispy green finish.
